Seven Things You May Not Know about Christmas

7 things you may not know about Christmas

There is debate among some Christians about whether we should celebrate Christmas or not. I think we can if we scrape the lies off the Truth and celebrate it as it should be celebrated, as the birth of the Saviour, the Messiah, Jesus Christ, on earth. We can still praise the Father for sending His Son to earth!

The Two Babylons Chapter VII. The Two Developments Historically and Prophetically Considered

The idolatrous system of the ancient Babylon assumed different phases in different periods of its history. In the prophetic description of the modern Babylon, there is evidently also a development of different powers at different times.

The Two Babylons Chapter II. Section III.—The Mother of the Child

While the mother derived her glory in the first instance from the divine character attributed to the child in her arms, the mother in the long-run practically eclipsed the son. At first, in all likelihood, there would be no thought whatever of ascribing divinity to the mother.

Daniel 11 Explained in the Light of History

Daniel 11 is all about prophecy of future events – future to the time of the prophet Daniel, not us – and one of the hardest passages in the Bible to understand unless you know the history behind it! It’s not about the rise of the Antichrist in an as-yet-unknown time in the future as many people think. Why do they think that? Because that’s what they were taught. And … Continue reading →

The Olivet Discourse in All Three Synoptic Gospels Compared Verse by Verse

The Olivet Discourse is the message Jesus gave to His disciples on the Mount of Olives. This message is written in slightly three different ways in the three synoptic Gospels in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. The Gospels Matthew, Mark and Luke are called synoptic Gospels because they include many of the same stories. And they stand in contrast to the Gospel of John, whose content is largely … Continue reading →

666 – The Anti-Christ to Come?

n 1519 Martin Luther first called the Pope the Antichrist and later wrote to Pope Leo X and with boldness informed him that he, the Pope, was the Antichrist. The Historicist view was held by all the Protestant Reformers – that is, every major preacher of the gospel on the Protestant side of the Reformation. They all believed that the Papacy was the Antichrist.

Who is the “He” of Daniel 9:27 Who Confirms the Covenant with Many for One Week?

Who is the “He” of Daniel 9:27 Who Confirms the Covenant with Many for One Week?

Nearly all contemporary students of Bible Endtime prophecy will answer the question of the title of this article with, “The Antichrist!” But did you know up till the end of the 19th century, Daniel 9:27 was considered a Messianic prophecy of the 7 years of Jesus and His disciples’ ministry of giving the Gospel to the Jews?

Two years in the Philippines

June 4th, 2025. Two years ago, June 4th, 2023, Tess and I moved from Guam to the Philippines. It’s been a wonderful two years living in the beautiful countryside near the sea in a small village. The Philippines is a poor country where half of the households don’t own a refrigerator, but food is abundant. Nobody goes hungry.

I finished today my project of creating  a PDF file of R. W. Thompson’s insightful book The Papacy And The Civil Power Click on the link to download it. It’s only 1.8 megabytes in size compared to the copy on archive.org which is 39 megabytes.

Pope Leo XIII On His Authority

See The Papacy Is The Antichrist – By Rev. J. A. Wylie

Thoughts about the American Pope

The first ever American to become Pope, Robert Francis Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV, reminded me of a quote from The Papacy And The Civil Power – Chapter I. which I posted on this website:

“Pope Gregory XVI., some years ago, uttered the saying, “Out of the Roman States, there is no country where I am pope, except the United States,”…Read More

In all the countries professedly Roman Catholic, the Church was restricted and hampered in what were asserted to be its rights, on account of its close alliance with despotism; while in this country (the USA), owing to the liberality of our institutions, it is “legally free,” and is left without the interference of the law, to the uninterrupted pursuit of its ecclesiastical policy. Manifestly, it is because the nations of Europe, hitherto Roman Catholic, have taken away from “the vicar of God” the power to subordinate the laws of the State to the canon laws of the Church, which have been constructed with sole reference to papal supremacy, that the hope of rebuilding this power in the United States has been excited.” (End of quote.)

Another point is the significance of the name Leo. It was Leo X who, in 1521, excommunicated Martin Luther. Does the name indicate a possible agenda by Robert Prevost to totally crush Protestantism in America? Could he do that when Americans have First Amendment protection that guarantees freedom of religion? Time will tell.

The signing of the Constitution of the Beast of Revelation 13?

signing of the EU constitution

On 29 October 2004, 53 senior political figures from the 25 member states of the European Union signed a treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe. The ceremony took place in the ornate surroundings of the Palazzo dei Conservatori in the heart of ancient Rome where the original treaty establishing the Common Market was signed 47 years previously. Behind them is a statue of Pope Leo X. I think it’s significant that area with Leo X in the background was chosen to sign the EU Constitution because Leo X was the Pope who in January 1521 excommunicated Martin Luther.
