Continue reading →It is undeniable that Pavelic up until his death was protected by the Vatican and that even on his deathbed he received the papal blessing. Pope Pius XII and Stepinac always considered him a practicing Catholic. Therefore he and his Ustashi were protected and are still being protected by the Vatican, because of their devotion to the Roman Catholic Church, despite the odious crimes they committed.

There was a monk near Travnik with the crucifix in one hand who was inciting a band of people whom he had organized and was leading. This happened in the first days after my arrival there. “This, therefore, means the renewal of medieval times,” remarked the correspondent. “Yes, but made worse by machine guns, hand grenades, dynamite, barrels of gasoline and other means of terrorism.”
