The Divine Programme of The World’s History Chapter VII. The Christian Programme – Part III.

It was that of the Church,—it was the revelation that a vital, spiritual, organic union existed between the ascended Saviour and all His believing people, whether Jew or Gentile, so that they together formed one body, of which He was the living head.

Roman Catholicism By Lorraine Boettner Chapter IV Tradition

This is the continuation of the previous chapter of Roman Catholicism by Lorraine Boettner. 1 What Tradition Is Protestantism and Roman Catholicism agree that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. But they differ widely in regard to the place that it is to have in the life of the church. Protestantism holds that the Bible alone is the authoritative and sufficient rule of faith and practice. But Romanism … Continue reading →

Was Peter The First Pope?

James Japan avatarPosted on January 1, 2024 by James ArendtOctober 17, 2024

The Catholic church falsely claims that Peter was the first bishop of the church in Rome, and all power was handed down to the bishops or popes of that city.

The History of Protestantism J. A. Wylie Volume I – Book I

The History of Protestantism J. A. Wylie Volume I – Book I

I’ve heard from several sources how important J.A. Wylie’s works on the history of Protestantism are. One person called Wylie the “best of the best” author on this subject. I got the text from https://www.doctrine.org/history/HPv1b1.htm It was done long ago the old-fashioned way using Microsoft FrontPage which nobody uses anymore because it does a lousy job. It’s hard to read the article on that website not only from a phone … Continue reading →

What The Pope Refuses To Believe

No conversion of priest or layman from Roman Catholicism is complete without full acceptance that the Gospel of Jesus Christ reveals that through faith in Jesus Christ man is actually invested with the very righteousness of God.

The Tyranny Of Priestly Celibacy

At ordination secular priests merely signify that they accept the Church’s condition for ordination that they will not get legally married. They take no vow of chastity, that is, they make no explicit promise to refrain from sexual relations.

Early Church Leaders Confirm the Apostle Paul’s Gospel and Ministry

This video is a defense of the Apostle Paul against attacks by Muslims, certain Hebrew Israelites & Hebrew Roots people alike. The documentary was created by Exegetical Apologetics, also known as Reformed Apologetics Ministries. Quotations from first and second-century Church leaders about the Apostle Paul. This is my own research from independant sources to show that Church leaders of the 1st and 2nd century acknowledged Paul’s Gospel and his apostleship. … Continue reading →

Is the Doctrine of Salvation by Faith Alone Taught Only in Paul’s Epistles?

Is the Doctrine of Salvation by Faith Alone Taught Only in Paul’s Epistles?

The question in the title of this article is the topic of discussion with one of my friends. He wrote me saying, “Salvation by faith not of works is not just a mere opinion of Paul. It’s the *central thesis* of his letters! Paul passionately believes it and he stands or falls on this doctrine. The important question then is whether this doctrine is true. If we were to read … Continue reading →

On the Sacrament of Extreme Unction – By Martin Luther

To this rite of anointing the sick our theologians have made two additions well worthy of themselves. One is, that they call it a sacrament; the other, that they make it extreme, so that it cannot be administered except to those who are in extreme peril of life. Perhaps— as they are keen dialecticians—they have so made it in relation to the first unction of baptism, and the two following … Continue reading →

Thoughts about the American Pope

The first ever American to become Pope, Robert Francis Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV, reminded me of a quote from The Papacy And The Civil Power – Chapter I. which I posted on this website:

“Pope Gregory XVI., some years ago, uttered the saying, “Out of the Roman States, there is no country where I am pope, except the United States,”…Read More

In all the countries professedly Roman Catholic, the Church was restricted and hampered in what were asserted to be its rights, on account of its close alliance with despotism; while in this country (the USA), owing to the liberality of our institutions, it is “legally free,” and is left without the interference of the law, to the uninterrupted pursuit of its ecclesiastical policy. Manifestly, it is because the nations of Europe, hitherto Roman Catholic, have taken away from “the vicar of God” the power to subordinate the laws of the State to the canon laws of the Church, which have been constructed with sole reference to papal supremacy, that the hope of rebuilding this power in the United States has been excited.” (End of quote.)

Another point is the significance of the name Leo. It was Leo X who, in 1521, excommunicated Martin Luther. Does the name indicate a possible agenda by Robert Prevost to totally crush Protestantism in America? Could he do that when Americans have First Amendment protection that guarantees freedom of religion? Time will tell.

The signing of the Constitution of the Beast of Revelation 13?

signing of the EU constitution

On 29 October 2004, 53 senior political figures from the 25 member states of the European Union signed a treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe. The ceremony took place in the ornate surroundings of the Palazzo dei Conservatori in the heart of ancient Rome where the original treaty establishing the Common Market was signed 47 years previously. Behind them is a statue of Pope Leo X. I think it’s significant that area with Leo X in the background was chosen to sign the EU Constitution because Leo X was the Pope who in January 1521 excommunicated Martin Luther.
