Popery! As it Was and as it Is – By William Hogan

Americans who read this work may think, “This is all very interesting history of the Catholic church in America in the first half of the 19th century, but it is not like that today.” While it’s true that modern American Catholics have a more tolerant attitude toward non-Catholics, what do the priests and bishops think about it? They are still seeking domination of America.

The Papacy Is The Antichrist – By Rev. J. A. Wylie

James Japan avatarPosted on December 22, 2024 by James ArendtDecember 22, 2024 1
The Papacy Is The Antichrist – By Rev. J. A. Wylie

The Papacy, speaking through its representative and head, calls itself the “Vicar of Christ.” The first, “Antichrist,” is a Greek word, the second, “Vicar,” is an English word; but the two are in reality one, for both words have the same meaning. Antichrist translated into English is Vice-Christ, or Vicar of Christ; and Vicar of Christ, rendered into Greek is Antichrist – Antichristos.

Living Fountains or Broken Cisterns – An Educational Problem for Protestants

The author has attempted, by a generous use of historical quotations, to so arrange facts that the reader will see that the hope of Protestantism and the hope of republicanism lies in the proper education of the youth.

Liberalism: Its Cause And Cure – Chapter Six: The Cure

The attack on the Word of God which was once the sole ambition of only a few academic theologians in Europe has become a malignancy in America, one that threatens to overtake and destroy the vitality of the Christian faith.

Liberalism: Its Cause And Cure – Chapter Five: Defending Morality

James Japan avatarPosted on November 11, 2024 by James ArendtNovember 15, 2024 2

Anyone who tries to discuss contemporary moral issues finds himself enmeshed in well-rehearsed arguments which do not seem to address the real issues. For this reason, many orthodox Christians feel constrained to withdraw from the field of battle rather than endure the aggravation of reasoning against emotional tirades and visceral attacks.

Liberalism: Its Cause And Cure – Chapter Three: The Mainline Churches And Evolution

Increasing doubts about the Bible in the 1870s led to increasing faith in science and the new technology. The devastation of the Civil War in America gave way to optimism about the progress of man. The United States began a period of economic and geographical expansion which did not abate until the reunification of Vietnam in l975.

Liberalism: Its Cause And Cure – The Poisoning of American Christianity and the Antidote

James Japan avatarPosted on November 7, 2024 by James ArendtNovember 12, 2024

This book began as an attempt to explain to the ordinary church member the corruption of the Christian faith. The typical church member does not understand how a minister could deny the virgin birth of Christ or explain away the meaning of the cross and yet remain a pastor.

Martin Luther’s Reply to the Papal Bull of Leo X

Exsurge Domine (Latin: Arise O Lord) is a papal bull issued on 15 June 1520 by Pope Leo X. It was written in response to the teachings of Martin Luther which opposed the views of the papacy. It censured forty one propositions extracted from Luther’s 95 theses and subsequent writings, and threatened him with excommunication unless he recanted within a sixty day period commencing upon the publication of the bull … Continue reading →

Thoughts about the American Pope

The first ever American to become Pope, Robert Francis Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV, reminded me of a quote from The Papacy And The Civil Power – Chapter I. which I posted on this website:

“Pope Gregory XVI., some years ago, uttered the saying, “Out of the Roman States, there is no country where I am pope, except the United States,”…Read More

In all the countries professedly Roman Catholic, the Church was restricted and hampered in what were asserted to be its rights, on account of its close alliance with despotism; while in this country (the USA), owing to the liberality of our institutions, it is “legally free,” and is left without the interference of the law, to the uninterrupted pursuit of its ecclesiastical policy. Manifestly, it is because the nations of Europe, hitherto Roman Catholic, have taken away from “the vicar of God” the power to subordinate the laws of the State to the canon laws of the Church, which have been constructed with sole reference to papal supremacy, that the hope of rebuilding this power in the United States has been excited.” (End of quote.)

Another point is the significance of the name Leo. It was Leo X who, in 1521, excommunicated Martin Luther. Does the name indicate a possible agenda by Robert Prevost to totally crush Protestantism in America? Could he do that when Americans have First Amendment protection that guarantees freedom of religion? Time will tell.

The signing of the Constitution of the Beast of Revelation 13?

signing of the EU constitution

On 29 October 2004, 53 senior political figures from the 25 member states of the European Union signed a treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe. The ceremony took place in the ornate surroundings of the Palazzo dei Conservatori in the heart of ancient Rome where the original treaty establishing the Common Market was signed 47 years previously. Behind them is a statue of Pope Leo X. I think it’s significant that area with Leo X in the background was chosen to sign the EU Constitution because Leo X was the Pope who in January 1521 excommunicated Martin Luther.
