How Israel-Based Prophetic Futurism Breeds Mass Misinterpretation Of Bible Prophecy — 5 Comments

  1. Chuck Baldwin is right about Darby, Scofield, dispensationalism, and most of the clueless TV Bible teachers. He’s wrong about some things there. Lots of prophecy is fulfilled already, but not all.

Armageddon will leave such a mess it takes years to clean it up. That obviously has not happened yet.

Zechariah & Revrlation have verses that obviously describe effects of a nuclear explosions.

From Daniel’s day to today, there has been no acceleration in the volume of knowledge like the last couple of centuries.

Isaac Newton said those verses of Daniel 12 would require transportation exceeding 70 miles an hour to make a difference significant enough to match.

The chapters in Daniel have the obvious fulfillment in world empires, as we learned early on. Yes, most are now in our ancient past, but not all.

And no, the mark of the beast is not a spirit of Antichrist. And in Matthew 24, in you transcript, I see no effort to explain away the verses that refer to the Great Tribulation “spoken of by Daniel the Prophet”, as still future. Meaning no way the preterists can say the abomination of desolation of Daniel was an Assyrian pig.

The chariots that run like lightnings, look like torches, and so on.

The Jesuits did not write those passages, and they are exposed by others like them. They are Satan’s minions just like their nominal enemies in the other evil order we know about.

    • My friend, you cover too many points for me to comment on for lack of time. I would prefer to talk about one point at a time and the most important one for me is this: Do you believe the 70th Week of Daniel was fulfilled by Jesus and the Apostles in their ministry to the House of Israel, or do you believe the 70th Week is yet to come in the future? The points you bring up tell me you are a Futurist who believes the 70th Week is yet to come. I believe it was fulfilled. The misinterpretation of Daniel 9:27 is the bases of many false and incorrect teachings of the Endtime from my observation. Please check out the articles on this website about Daniel 9:27 and give me your take on it. I believe this prophecy is the lynch-pin of true understanding the Endtime.

  2. pope sixth 3rd 666…432…hum No man in the history of mankind fits the greatest false prophet as does Augustine of Hippo. BILLIONS have been damned because of his false gospel and “just war” right up to this present day. Hey and guess what? He was pen pals with Pope Sixtus 3rd ( 666) The ONLY religious/political leader in the history of mankind whose name is exactly 666. End times charlatans and liars have you looking everywhere else . You know WHY? Because both Catholics AND Protestants for 1700 years have DAMNED themselves because of what these two men did and said. Gee now why would Satan want to hide these facts? SMH The verse everybody misses: Revelation 19:20
“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
The word BEFORE in Greek can mean before in TIME. Augustine consulted with Sixth 3rd BEFORE he came into power in 432. Also the “miracles” include ALL KINDS of superstitious nonsense these Catholics believe right up to this present day. Futurism, Preterism and end times charlatans have everybody looking in the wrong direction and WITH GOOD REASON. They work for Rome knowingly or unknowingly. PLEASE, pray, study and think. Be careful the Vatican even controls information on the “History Channel” ( News Corp) and most main stream AND alternative. Media. FOCUS: Obey the real Gospel of repentance and faith…then Acts 6:4 until we see Him.

  3. James, Trutherator said he agreed with Chuck Baldwin and you in regards to Darby, Scofield, and their ilk on TV. He does not want to be in the “futurist” box. Don’t put him there. What he is trying to say, I think, is that there are Old Testament prophecies that seem to have meaning and relevance to our day. The book of Revelation is an application of many of those prophecies in a Christian context. For instance John the revelator takes portions of Jeremiah’s prophecy concerning the fall of Babylon (Jeremiah 50) which obviously had it’s initial fulfillment in the time of Daniel (as a type) but was reapplied through the Spirit to end times via John in Revelation 14 – 19. And in chapter 18 and 19 specifically John quotes directly from Jeremiah 50 to describe events in the future (our future). This is in no way a denial of it’s fulfillment in Daniel’s day. John the Revelator was not trying to be a “futurist.” He was applying O.T. predictions about the future of the people of God at the end of time in a distinctly Christian context. “Trutherator” mentions Armageddon as an example. While he probably is wrong in thinking it will take place in the Middle East, a proper hermeneutic might help him to realize that just as “Babylon” and it’s fall in the O.T. was used as a type by the apostle of our Lord of a future spiritual Babylon that is due to fall, even so Armageddon is a place in Palestine where the armies of God (literal Israel) fought in decisive battles with its enemies (Egypt, Babylon etc,) it is used by John to describe a final battle between the people of God and the forces of evil (i.e. Babylon) and the outcome is described at the end of Revelation 19. So that his readers will know that his whole approach is typological he makes reference to the same event as the “drying up of the river Euphrates” in chapter 16. So that the reader will know that he is describing a world wide event, he lets them know that the “waters where the whore sitteth, are peoples, nations, and tongues…etc.) The Euphrates was the literal river that flowed through ancient Babylon has become emblematic or typical of all the political and spiritual forces that will support the effort to destroy the people of God, but our Lord will intervene and redeem his people. Revelation 19. So the same event if taken “literally” happens in Palestine and at Babylon at the same time, but if applied spiritually is a world wide event, where ever the people of God are in the conflict presenting the everlasting gospel. Trutherator needs a lesson or two in New Testament typology and he will be in no danger of slipping into “futurism.” He wants to agree with you. Your friend Richard
